Our Community Impact
Over the past ten years, the Optimist Club of Stratford and its Charitable Foundation have proudly supported youth, education, health, and community initiatives throughout Stratford, Perth County, and surrounding areas.
Through direct donations, bursaries, sponsorships, and charitable grants, we have contributed over $430,000 to programs that strengthen our community and support young people.
Where Our Support Goes
Youth & Sports Programs
We provide ongoing support to youth-focused sports and recreation programs, including:
- Minor and youth sports organizations
- School and community athletic programs
- Youth leadership and development initiatives
These investments promote teamwork, confidence, physical health, and community engagement.
Education & Schools
Education is a key priority of the Optimist Club. Contributions include:
- School programs and extracurricular activities
- Robotics, music, drama, and leadership programs
- Support for school boards and special student initiatives
Bursaries & Scholarships
We proudly award post-secondary bursaries to graduating students from local secondary schools, helping students pursue:
- College and university studies
- Apprenticeship and skilled trades programs
Bursaries are awarded based on leadership, community involvement, and financial need.
Health & Medical Support
Significant donations have been made to support:
- Children’s health and medical foundations
- Hospital foundations and healthcare initiatives
