Bursary Amount
A $3,000 bursary is available and may be awarded to one student or shared among up to three students at each eligible school.

- Stratford District Secondary School
- Stratford St. Michael’s Catholic Secondary School
Eligibility Criteria
The primary criteria for selection is the development of leadership qualities through community volunteering. Preference will be given to students who:
- Demonstrate personal and academic growth
- Have matured throughout their high school years
- Show leadership through volunteering beyond the minimum graduation requirements
- Demonstrate financial need
Use of Funds
The bursary may be applied toward tuition at a:
- Canadian College
- Canadian University
- Apprenticeship Program
How to Apply
- Complete the Commencement Awards Application
- Submit the application to your School Guidance / Social Services Office
- Ensure submission is prior to the application deadline
Selection Process
Applications are reviewed by an independent awards committee at each school. Awards are granted based on the stated criteria and other considerations. The committee may divide the bursary among up to three deserving students per school.
Award Presentation
Award certificates will be presented at the commencement exercises of the respective school. Names of award recipients will be posted on the Optimist Club of Stratford website.
